3 Essential Tips for Successful Camping with Kids
by: Debora Geary
Camping with happy kids is wonderful - camping with miserable kids could convince you to pick a new family hobby. There’s lots of ways to ensure a happy camping experience, but here are my picks for the three most important.
1. Keep the sleeping bag dry. Let’s face it, sleeping comfortably is pretty important to all of us, but a wet sleeping bag can make a kid totally miserable. This is especially true if your child’s sleeping bag is one of the big box store $20 variety. You know, the ones that weigh 15 pounds (dry!) and are made of cotton. Get one of those wet, and your camping trip is over, it will take until next year to dry. Even a good kids sleeping bag can get wet, however, and it’s not easy to convince a kid to climb into a soggy bag to sleep.
The Law of Large Numbers
March 22, 2008
It is often said that sales is a numbers game. The more people we contact, the more chances we have to make a sale. That seems pretty obvious. The more people we contact the better chance we have of making a sale.
This doesn’t just work in sales. It works in life. If we want to get a date or find a job the more people we talk to, the greater chance we have of being successful. Sitting at home wishing and hoping that someone stops by doesn’t usually get us what we want. We have to be willing to make ourselves obvious.
The Law of Large Numbers simply tells us that, whatever we want, we have to be willing to get in touch with people who will lead us to what we want. It may be someone we meet knows someone who will want to buy our product, has a job opening, or perhaps knows a single friend. We never know who knows whom so the more people we encounter the greater our chances are of finding what we want.
A Butterfly Release; Alternatives to Throwing Rice
March 21, 2008
Brides are looking for different ways to make their wedding different and unique. The releasing of butterflies is starting to become a very popular alternative to throwing rice. They are environmentally friendly and beautiful also. As the butterflies fly around and even land on guests, you will see the delight and excitement on their faces. They will leave talking about the release and some may even be walking out with a butterfly on their shoulder.
When ordering butterflies, you want to make sure that they come from a reputable butterfly farmer. You do not want to try to save money and order "grow your own" butterfly kits. There are many things that can go wrong and you don’t want to be disappointed on your wedding day.
The butterflies can either be released individually or as a mass release. You may want to consider the event to decide what type of release to do. You can order enough butterflies to hand out to all of the guests, you can just have the wedding party do a release, or the bride and groom can do a mass release. When doing a mass release, three to four dozen make a nice release. You can do more or even less, depending on the impression that you would like to make.
Is Your Marriage Problem Severe Enough To Warrant Getting A Divorce?
March 20, 2008
Having a marriage problem can be agonizing especially if you’re trying to do all you can to make your marriage work. Depending on how your marriage was prior to thinking that you had a marriage problem, you could be in for a hurtful time if you don’t take a step back and look at your marriage problem from a “helicopter” viewpoint. To do that, you’re going to need to try to limit your emotional stake in the situation which admittedly is a difficult thing to do.
The first step in getting over a marriage problem is to remember that you aren’t alone, lots of couples have marriage problems that stem from all kinds of different types of behavior.
Here’s a partial list of marriage problems that you may or may not be experiencing:
Marriage problem #1:
Lack of sexual intimacy - a serious issue that you must work through in my opinion if your going to work it out.
Marriage problem #2:
Exploding during an argument, getting too emotional and letting your temper get the best of you - you need to learn to work together and you can’t do that if one of you is getting too heated.
Exterior Lighting - Improving Your Lot

Exterior Lighting - Improving Your Lot
by: Karen Hughes
Everyone’s home needs some sort of outside lighting. Whether it’s to help you get the key in the lock after a night out, or to emphasise some of your favourite garden features, outdoor lighting is a must.
The most common and practical lighting fixture is one that is activated by movement or an infra-red motion detector. These can be set to become active at dusk and any movement will turn the light on. It means that energy is saved as the light is off when not required but it switches on when someone moves. This type of light has the added bonus of deterring unwanted visitors and also lighting up any callers who come to your door giving you added security.
Another form of exterior lighting is solar lighting. This stores energy from the sun when lights are not required, and releases it as light energy when needed. Solar lighting can take the form of individual lamps or a major lighting installation that uses a central store of solar light stored in a battery. The individual lights each have their own solar mechanism and can be used to light paths or driveways with the minimum amount of installation work as they do not need electric cabling between them and the power source.

The Wedding Aisle - Who is Walking You Down it?
March 18, 2008
Choosing who should walk down the aisle with you is not as easy at it has been in the past. In the past, it has always been assumed that the father of the bride is to be the one. These days, between family tensions, having divorced parents and just wanting to be independent has changed this tradition. Some brides still choose the traditional route with a twist. Here are 8 ideas from brides and brides-to-be who have considered this:
1. Some brides choose to have their father walk them down the aisle only halfway and then walk the other half by themselves. This symbolizes the bride’s transfer from dependence to independence and that she has a new life of her own. This is pretty safe since it still involves the father of the bride.
2. Some have their mother and father both walk them down the aisle. For some brides, this is a way to include her mother in the process while still holding on to tradition. While this may be also seen as an attempt to go against a “male dominated society”, it still should be accepted by most if you are worried about it.
Shopping For a New Home

Shopping For a New Home
by: Ingrid Macher
Congratulations on your decision to get a new home, now is the time to consider some aspects to help you find your dream home.
First and most importantly, find a professional Real Estate agent to help you get through the process. Before you decide how many bathrooms you need, or what area is the best, it’s important to know how your credit is and if your actual financial situation is in good condition, and finally, how much you are going to be able to qualify for on a mortgage.
All these aspects are important to consider before you get in your car and drive around looking for you next home. So the beginning to buying a property starts with researching for a good real estate agent, somebody that you like and trust. You can find these qualified people on the internet or through the newspaper or possibly by referrals. The second step is to interview the agent and see what service he or she is able to offer to you and if you have to make a commitment to work with one person at a time.
Internet Dating for Men
March 16, 2008
Over the past several years online dating has become very popular. Many men try this format of dating or meeting in an effort to meet someone special without the risk of face-to-face rejection. The unfortunate thing is, online dating doesn’t work for men as the odds are stacked against them.
In November 2003 Jupiter Research did some research into this area. The study showed that men are four time more likely then women to use and subscribe to an online dating website and twice as likely to browse, post and respond to a profile. The odds are stacked against men and strongly in favour of women.
Internet dating can of course work for men, it just takes time and effort. The best way to approach and have more success is by viewing Internet dating as a supplement to other methods of meeting women. Don’t just rely on it as you’re only method of meeting. You’ll find many sites online that have built-up a database of users and offer a service that will not just help but guide you as well.
Family Cycle (I) - Euphoric and Dysphoric Cycles in Marriage
March 15, 2008
Despite all the fashionable theories of marriage, the narratives and the feminists, the reasons to engage in marriage largely remain the same. True, there have been role reversals and new stereotypes have cropped up. But the biological, physiological and biochemical facts were less amenable to modern criticisms of culture. Men are still men and women are still women in more than one respect.
Men and women marry for the same reasons:
The Sexual Dyad ? formed due to sexual attraction and in order to secure a stable, consistent and permanently available source of sexual gratification.
The Economic Dyad ? To form a functioning economic unit within which the economic activities of the members of the dyad and of additional entrants will be concentrated. The economic unit generates more wealth than it consumes and the synergy between its members is likely to lead to gains in production and in productivity relative to individual efforts and investment.
