How Thinking About An Uncontested Divorce Figures Into Your Decision About Divorce

January 31, 2009

An uncontested divorce is the most common type of divorce. An uncontested divorce is a divorce that occurs when there are no disagreements between spouses over divorce related issues like custody, finances, living arrangements, spousal support, child support, etc. An uncontested divorce can be an easy way for people to get divorced without the hassles of a legal struggle and undue wear and tear on emotions.

But, you may not be ready to seriously consider uncontested divorce if you’re just thinking about it.

Thinking about an uncontested divorce can mean a variety of things from a psychological perspective…it could mean that you are really on the brink of divorce.

It could also mean that you’re feeling frustrated and just want to end things as fast and quietly as possible. If this is the case, you may want to make sure that you aren’t just being lazy and you should examine your reasons for divorce first before you go any further.

“Does it mean I am really ready for divorce just because I am starting to think about an uncontested divorce?”

Maybe, maybe not.

Last Minute Gift Giving : The Truth About Last Minute Christmas Gifts

Last Minute Gift Giving : The Truth About Last Minute Christmas Gifts
 by: Janice Wee

A word of advice. Try to plan your gift giving in advance. Don’t wait to the very last minute. Last minute gifts would probably cost you more than you might anticipate.

Take a calendar and your organizer. Circle every birthday, your wedding anniversary, christmas and all gift giving dates on the calendar for the entire year. For starters get an extra calendar just for your gifts to simplify your gift giving. Here are some cool calendars. http://www.christmas-giftshop.com/2006-calendar.htm

Plan ahead a few weeks in advance. For each date, who are the persons you intend to get gifts for. What is your budget? What would you give that person?

Shop online for the gift. Now, this is why I say it is cheaper to plan ahead than wait for the very last minute. If you wait until a day or two before the event, you would probably have to go for overnight shipping. If you order long in advance, you can take the cheapest shipping method possible. The shipping cost between the different shipping options can vary considerably.

Online Dating. Is It Taken To Seriously?

January 28, 2009

When I look at alot of the online dating services I notice one common trend. People take it very seriously into finding there true love. I find it absolutely amazing the amount of people who are looking for there absolute perfect match.

There seems to be so many profiles out there who tell people exactly what it is they want from a partner. Its as if there an owner of a company and there trying to fill a certain job position. They then take and list there requirements and what they expect from a person. If they don’t meet those requirements then they think there unsuitable. I think that’s crazy.

Dating is about getting to know people and then seeing if you enjoy spending time with them. You will often meet people who you thought you would never date and end up having a strong relationship with them. I’m not saying that it isn’t good to have certain expectations. It is good to have an idea of what you want in a partner. I’m just saying you need to have an open mind.

So what should you put in your profile?

The Bigger the Carat the Better the Wedding?

January 27, 2009

Ahh . . . sweet romance.

The flowers. The chocolate. The late night whispers of "I love you."

For most people in love, the culmination of months of togetherness and special friendship comes down to one single moment: The marriage proposal - - featuring a simple, but elegant, diamond engagement ring.

Of course, if you’re a celebrity, a simple ring may not have enough wattage to suit your tastes. Thus, we see many celebrities sporting five-carat to seven-carat diamond studded engagement and wedding rings.

Well, if you can afford it, why not flaunt it, right?

Take for instance the recent marriages of Britney Spears and Star Jones. When Britney Spears got engaged to her former back up dancer, Kevin Federline, she promptly bought herself an awesome-looking five-carat diamond engagement ring. (Does anyone really believe that Kevin bought this for her on his dancer’s salary?)

Britney bought herself the ring she felt she deserved ? nothing wrong with that. Then, she and Kevin quickly made the leap to matrimony in a matter of months with a surprisingly nice (no lip kissing of Madonna) wedding ceremony.

How to Make a Quick, Easy Baby Album
 by: Vera Raposo

If you are creating a photo album for your baby for the first time, or

are unsure where to begin in creating a scrapbook of your baby’s first

year, here are some tips to make it quick and easy to preserve your

photos and memories:

Rather than including every photo you take of your baby, organize your

pictures according to the month they were taken and chose a few of your

favorites from each month.

You can make single page or several pages from each particular month and stage of development without having to spend a large amount of time gluing every single photo into your scrapbook.

Be sure and include birth announcements and baby shower invitations as a special touch.

Keep a notebook or calendar within easy reach to record milestones in

your child’s development. You can then coordinate the events on your

calendar with the month-by-month photos.

Tips On Organizing Your Scrapbook
 by: Vera Raposo

You can create more scrapbooks in less time of you take a few moments

to organize your thoughts and supplies. Before starting your newest

scrapbooking project, plan out everything you will need and have it close

at hand.

This includes supplies such as tape, glue, and pens, photos

and memorabilia you intend to use, and an idea of how you want your

pages to flow from one to the next.

Effectively organizing your scrapbooking projects includes keeping a

written record of what worked for you in the past and what did not.

Notes of materials and fabrics that worked and those that were difficult to

maneuver, the types of paper and decorations that were the easiest to

attach, and which particular supplies were the most effective will save

you a lot of time when starting a new scrapbooking project.

Basic supplies such as scissors, paper, and page protectors should be kept in a special box or container so they will be within easy reach when you are

Star Jones Nuptials: Fairytale Wedding or Diva Gone Wild?

January 24, 2009

In case you’ve been living on another planet for the past several months, you may not have heard that Star Jones was getting married. For the rest of us here on planet earth we couldn’t escape this joyous news unless we swore off pop culture icons like Entertainment Tonight and People magazine.

Star Jones, current co-host of TV’s chat fest The View with Barbara Walters, recently married Wall Street banker Al Reynolds in an elaborate, pull-out-all-the-stops wedding extravaganza fit for a queen - or maybe a successful diva.

That’s right. Star Jones is a world-class diva. Okay, anyone familiar with Star knows her penchant for pampering herself with the finer things in life. So, it shouldn’t be any big surprise that she went all out to have the wedding she’d been dreaming about since she was eight years old.

Star’s fairytale wedding included such niceties as a wedding gown with a 27-foot veil topped with a crystal tiara, a 60-member Broadway choir, more attendants than Princess Di had at her wedding, and a custom made 7-carat princess cut diamond wedding ring.

Am I Hurting My Child By Staying Home?

Am I Hurting My Child By Staying Home?
 by: Stephanie Foster

It’s something many stay at home moms fear, that they are hurting their child socially by not putting them in daycare or doing a million activities with them from the time they are born. But it’s not something you need to worry too much about, so long as your children do get some social time.

Infants, of course, don’t really play with each other, so that early in the game there is little to worry about. But as they grow into toddlers, they definitely need to be around other children, even if they don’t interact much until they are 2 years old or so.

One thing to remember is that activities don’t have to be formal. You don’t have to pay for art classes, gymnastics, etc. Just take the kids to the park. Most times there will be other children there for them to interact with if they like. Or they can just run around and play on the playground equipment.
