Find Out More about Your Family Name, Launch a Website
by: Jonathan Fashbaugh
On a whim one day, I thought I’d check to see if my lastname.com was available for purchase. It was so I snatched it up. Since then, I have been growing the site as I had the time, but now I’ve become more enthusiastic about it. http://www.fashbaugh.com has a unique purpose. People with the last name, Fashbaugh, have been dropping by the site and sharing their stories about their background. Collectively, we’ve been discovering bits and pieces about the ancestry of the Fashbaugh name.
There’s really no reason why anyone can’t do the same thing to find out more about their last name. I suppose that people with more common last names would have some difficulty since the Internet would naturally be more saturated with content containing their name, but if you’re actively building a website about your family and ancestry, you will attract people overtime. You can ask them for any information that would help you on your quest to build the ultimate “Fashbaugh” website.
As your family grows, you can add pages for the different family members. For example, my new son’s page is at http://www.fashbaugh.com/caleb.html. You might even consider adding a blog, such as my wife’s page, http://www.fashbaugh.com/Amanda/index.html.

Mens Moissanite Wedding Rings, or Is Moissanite a Mans Best Friend?
September 28, 2009
As mens wedding rings become more and more popular mens moissanite wedding rings become popular at an even faster rate. Wedding rings for men are here to stay and so are mens moissanite wedding rings.
What is moissanite I hear you ask? Moissanite is the newest jewelry stone which is taking the jewelry industry by storm. And whilst moissanite is popular amongst the women, mens moissanite wedding rings are taking off.
Moissanite is a naturally occurring crystal, or jewel, which was only discovered in 1893. It was originally found in tiny quantities in a meteorite which had fallen in the Arizona desert. It was discovered by doctor Henry Moissan, after whom it was named.
It exhibits many of the qualities of diamonds and looks identical to diamonds to all but a few of the most experienced jewellers. So identical in fact that sohisticated equipment is needed to distinguish it from diamonds. Moissanite even outperforms diamonds in most of the natural qualities for which diamonds are so renowned. Most importantly, it is much cheaper.
Moissanite is second only to diamond in hardness, and is harder than any other jewel. It does not scratch, fade or change color. It has more brilliance than diamonds or any other popular gemstone.

No longer must we suit up and weather the harsh winter days in the hopes of checking a few names off of our Christmas list. The store aisles, as we know them, are crowded and hectic.
But now, many store aisles are becoming virtual, a shopping cart is something you fill with images of a product and a checkout is something that you click on to confirm your order. Things have changed a lot in the past years and I wonder how many of us couldn’t even imagine what life would be like without the convenience of shopping on the internet. Christmas Tree Selection Guide
by: Rosie Fletcher
Before you select the perfect Christmas tree, consider a little planning to make room for your special guest. Choose the best area in your room for the tree, which would include a spot that is close to an electrical outlet. When you plug in your lights, you won’t want a cord running along your floor, which could cause someone to trip and fall. There are so many things to think about when choosing a tree to celebrate your holidays. Do I want real or artificial? Should I buy pre-lit or plain? A few knowledgeable tips will guide you in the right direction.
Christmas Tree Tip #1: Artificial or Real
The first step is to decide whether you want a real or artificial tree. An artificial tree is beneficial to anyone who has allergies, but also if you just want to know that your tree will last for years. Artificial trees are nice because they do not have to be thrown out every year and they are always the same size and a perfect fit. On the other hand, there’s nothing like the smell of a real Christmas tree. With real trees, there is a greater risk of fire and also the need to keep them hydrated regularly. A real Christmas tree requires a lot of maintenance and, if you’re not up to it, an artificial may be the way to go.

The Perfect Wedding Budget
September 25, 2009
Creating a wedding budget is one of the first things a bride should do. Although it is extremely important, brides often fear the task and in turn do not create one at all. This is a huge mistake. Brides who plan weddings without a wedding budget spend anywhere from twenty to fifty percent more than they anticipated. This can be a financial disaster for whoever is taking care of the wedding bill. So, be a responsible bride and use these helpful ideas to create your own personal wedding budget.
Tips
A good thing to remember is you can plan a beautiful wedding on any wedding budget. The most important thing to remember is to stick to your budget, no matter if you must forgo things you truly want to include. Will you really remember if you had to use cheap ribbon for your wedding favors instead of the designer ribbon you desired? Probably not, and it is certain your guests won’t know the difference anyway.
A wedding that has a guest list of over 400 may need a professional wedding planner. However, if you feel capable of taking on the task yourself, then by all means, give it a try. If you start to feel too overwhelmed you can always call in for backup later.

Wedding Websites Save Brides & Grooms Time and Money
by: Cheryln Hawkins
For the past few years, the Internet has served to assist many brides and grooms in planning their wedding day, finding wedding site locations and wedding vendors, but now more and more couples are seeking to publish their wedding details online, too. A wedding website is a great way for couples to express their personalities, share their stories, and eliminate a lot of time and money doing extra leg work like making phone calls and paying for expensive invitation inserts for additional details like registry information, pre-wedding parties, and location maps or directions.
Many modern brides and grooms are turning to wedding web sites as a way to share information on how they met, provide special announcements to the wedding party and guests, and supply details and information about their wedding day and pre-wedding day celebrations including directions to the wedding site and rehearsal dinner location, bridal shower and bachelor party details, gift registry information and links, local hotel and airline recommendations, and top tourist sites for their out of town guests.

Christmas Shopping: Bargains For You!
by: Matthew C. Keegan
This Christmas season promises to be one filled with exceptional sales and across the board bargains for eager shoppers. With fuel prices running high, interest rates climbing, and consumer sentiment mixed, merchants know that they must slash prices in order to move merchandise. Let’s take a look at some of the types of sales certain to greet price conscious shoppers this holiday season.
Early Bird/Late Night Bargains - Well before Thanksgiving some retailers are already opening early or staying open late in order to accommodate shoppers. A big lure: Get ten percent back/off of select purchases over $50. Depending on the details of the offer, you can either apply savings to your current purchase or as credit toward future purchases. Variations of this lure include incremental rewards, i.e. $15 off of purchases of $75 or more, $20 off of purchases of $100 or more, etc. Read the fine print as exceptions do apply!

September 22, 2009
With so much to do, every bride needs a surefire way to get organized and stay on track as she countsdown toward that all-important day. Here’s a guide and checklist you won’t want to be without.
12 Months Before
*Buy a wedding planner and organizer, which is one of the true bargains for brides. (The only realistic alternative to not being well organized is hiring a wedding consultant to manage the details for you.)
*Talk with your fiancé (and parents if they will be paying the bill and adding to the guest list) about the size and a budget, possible date, and location for the wedding.
*Reserve the ceremony and reception sites. (If the wedding will take place in a large city, don’t dilly dally on this one. Wedding venues can be booked up solid for a year.)
*Begin shopping for your dress. (You could be looking for that perfect gown for months, and most shops need at least four months to fill an order. Look for styles appropriate for the wedding venue and time of day.)
*Shop for or begin making save-the-date cards.
*Send your engagement announcement to newspapers.
